چکیده

Robotic surgery has enabled surgeons to offer more patients a minimally invasive surgical option in the management of their complex diseases. While renal transplantation is associated with significant improvements in quantity and quality of life for most end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients, it is also not devoid of its surgical risks and potential morbidities. Robotic-assisted kidney transplantation is a recently described, innovative application of the robotic surgery platform, and early experiences suggest that it is associated with comparable graft function and lower rates of complications. Urinary tract obstruction, though less common than ESRD, can be a serious threat to renal function. Severe ureteric stricture disease can represent a clinically complex problem requiring major reconstructive surgery. Completely intra-corporeal robotic renal auto-transplantation is another innovative application of the robotic surgery platform and represents a significant advancement in urologic surgery. Initial reports of this procedure demonstrate safety, feasibility, and excellent renal function outcomes.

Evaluation of Therapeutic Effects of Autologous Bone Marrow Mesenchymal Stem Cells to Prevent the Progression of Chronic Nephropathy in Renal Transplant

Background Chronic allograft nephropathy(CAN)  is one of the most common causes of chronic and end stage renal disease. It  is defined with Mainly tubular atrophy and  interstitial fibrosis and no evidence of any other etiology, or functional disorder that caused at least three months after transplantation . Control of risk factors (HTN,DM,HLP, …) and limiting  usage of calcineurin inhibitors...

10-year Graft Survival Analysis of Renal Transplantation and Factors Affecting it in Patients Transplanted from Live Donor in Shiraz Transplant Research Center during 1999-2009

Background & Aims: Renal transplantation is the best therapeutic option for End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD). The aim of this study was to determine the graft survival rate of renal transplantation in patients who have been transplanted from live donor in Shiraz Transplant Research Center, Shiraz, Iran. Methods: In a survival analysis study, organ survival rate after kidney transplantation from...

Microchimerism and Renal Transplantation: Doubt Still Persists

Background: The Presence of donor leukocytes in recipients of organ allograft has been shown even several years after transplantation. However, it remains unclear whether this donor cell microchimerism plays an effective role in allograft acceptance or is simply a consequence of immunosuppressive conditions in recipients. Objective: To study microchimerism in a group of kidney transplant recipi...

Association of CCR5-59029 A/G and CCR2-V64I Variants with Renal Allograft Survival

Background: Despite advances in the medical care of renal transplant recipients which have led to an improvement in allograft survival, renal allograft rejection is still a major ob-stacle to successful organ transplantation. Understanding the mechanisms contributing to allograft rejection will be of great importance for the development of efficient antirejection strategies. Objective: The aim ...

THE ROLE OF T-L YMPHOCYTE SUBPOPULATION IN RENAL ALLOGRAFT REJECTION

Twenty-two recipients of HLA-nonidentical living related and nonrelated renal allografts were studied for alterations in the relative percentage of OKT4-positive peripheral blood T-cells after transplantation. Characteristic shifts in the ratio of T-helper to T -suppressor/cytotoxic cells (TH/TS-C), but not absolute cell numbers, were demonstrated to correspond with the status of the allog...
